The Janggo and the Dancer
Wrapping the resplendent five-colored Janggo around the neck in silk,
Oh, the dazzling light of the morning.
Rising in gentle silence,
Oh, the burning roar of the striking tail.
Spinning and raising the wrists high,
splendid with spirit,
the sound of the Janggo harmonizes with the dancer’s smile,
Illuminating the whole world.
Oh, the morning prelude,
ringing across the beautiful land of Korea.
